Canine Kennel Policy

Houston canine training and boarding services are provided at Shelmar Kennels Katy dog kennel facility under strict kennel policy.

We take pride in the care given to our kenneled dogs. In our opinion, a happy, content dog is better equipped to handle all aspects of training.

ALL SERVICES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY-NO EXCEPTIONS!
Payment for training services is taken in advance.
Dogs must be at least 5 months old before entering our dog obedience program.
All fees including veterinary services are collected prior to the release of any dog.
Incoming dogs must be fully vaccinated (rabies, parvo, bordatella) and current on heartworm preventative. Dogs must be free of infectious diseases, skin irritations and in good health.
You must provide a vaccination record before your pet is accepted at Shelmar.
Heartworm preventative is given on a monthly basis. You must bring any medication with you including heartworm and/or flea preventative at time of drop off.
If your pup is on a “special diet” please bring food with you at drop off.
There is no visitation during your pet’s obedience program. Phone calls or e-mails once a week to check on your pet’s progress and well-being is acceptable. Once training is completed you will be contacted to set up an appointment to work with Shelmar obedience trainers and your dog. We will give you plenty of notice so that you can prepare for your pet’s homecoming.
